California-Licensed Psychologist PSY 4205
I am Dr. Bonnie Ring, Licensed Psychologist, with 50 years of experience in my field. Aside from providing psychotherapy, I have been serving as a spiritual director and retreat leader for more than 30 years.
Because of my experience, I have gained a deep understanding of the ups and downs of every stage of life. I have experienced them and accompanied hundreds of individuals on their respective journeys.
If you let me become the experienced, honest, and compassionate companion in your life, I will be there to help you change.

Past Professional Experience
Former Consultant, AT&T
During the divestiture of the Baby Bells, I provided executive coaching, team building, goal setting, group problem-solving, and union-management conflict resolution.
Former Host on Station KSFO
The Dr. Bonnie Ring Show was the first psychological call-in radio program in the Bay Area.
At UC Santa Cruz, I pioneered the development of a decentralized counseling service to better reach out to students and impact their environment through consultation with faculty, administration, and residence staff.
At UC Irvine, I introduced the decentralized model of counseling service delivery to the School of Biological Sciences at a time when it had the highest admission and attrition rates. This effort significantly affected the retention rate of students through stress reduction workshops, study skills, time management, and individual counseling.
Boston University
As a graduate student, I was interested in the educational and psychological methods that enable adults to grow and change. During that time, the Civil Rights movement and interfaith conflict were central in the US.
I served as a fellow of the Center for Applied Behavioral Sciences, formerly the Human Relations Center begun by Benne, Bennis, and Chin.
I was a teaching fellow in the undergraduate Department of Human Relations and Organization Behavior at the College of Management.
My doctoral dissertation (Recognized Similarity: An Investigation of Significant Events Reported by Encounter Group Participants) was part of a much larger study at Stanford University.
It was reported in Encounter Groups: First Facts, by Lieberman, Yalom, and Miles.
